February 23, 2007, 7:00 PM.  The Providence Amateur Radio Club held an auction and flea market at the New Providence Municipal Center Gym at Academy St and Springfield Ave in New Providence, NJ.   There was a nice crowd, the auctioneer was relaxed and friendly and the entry fee was only $2 for bidders.  They had free parking and a refreshment table.  Prices were pretty good and there was a variety of gear including some boatanchor stuff:  a DX-60, a Viking Valiant, several Hallicrafter receivers, other Heathkit stuff, several Bird 500 watt dummy loads, a set of vintage Johnson plug in coils, quite a few  variacs, vintage ARRL handbooks etc.  A nice crowd was on hand and the bidding was active.  A good first of the season Amateur Radio event.
