July 8, 2007.  The Sussex County Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) held its 29th annual hamfest at the Sussex County Fairgrounds.  The weather was perfect and there were hundreds of sellers and buyers.  This hamfest was one of the best I have attended in some time.

Shortly after I arrived, I met two AM enthusiasts: Marty KB2FOU and Reid W2HU.  Reid was also a seller today.  There were lots of people at the fest and it was very well organized with the parking and the layout of the sellers area.

After a short chat, it was off to make the rounds and see the goodies.  I was surprised how many boatanchors were at this fest.  A very nice selection of vintage equipment was for sale, some at very reasonable prices.

In the middle of the tour I met three more  AM'ers,  Rich KC2LAE, Ray KC2PTS and Bob KC2RDU.  Then I came across my friend Don, W2DL and inside the Exhibition Building was Pete, WA2CWA.

The club also prepared good food and had a comfortable place to eat; with a nice breeze too.  While having breakfast, I met Doug, W2IDO who was manning the official 2 meter talk-in station.

Back to the tables and another round of looking at the goodies.

It was an excellent hamfest.  If you missed it, put it on your calendar for next year.
