August 12, 2007. The Tri-State Amateur Radio Association held it's annual hamfest at Airport Park in Matamoras, PA. Matamoras is just north of the very top of New Jersey. While this is a small hamfest, it seemed a tad larger than last year. The weather was great. there were a few boatanchors at reasonable prices. I met my friend Mike WA2VUN who is a regular at this fest. I bought another Viking II, but I don't know why, do we always need a spare?
Mike WA2VUN and just ten spots away was the best looking seller at the fest. I received an email from Lou W1QJ who said "That best looking seller is Terry Lynch, K1TRL, who is my significant other". Congratulations Lou !
Yes, there were boatanchors. (Notice my future Viking II with VFO, I had to buy it !)
They had good food, door prizes and a 50/50.
And, the typical stuff one would expect to find at a hamfest
It was small but nice.
