August 13, 2006. The Tri-State Amateur Radio Association held it's annual hamfest at the Matamoras Airport Park in Matamoras, PA. This is a small local hamfest, but it had a few boatanchors and everything at the fest seemed to have reasonable prices. I met my friend Mike WA2VUN who recently moved his home and business to north New Jersey near the New York border. The weather was great and I did find an item that I brought home.

10: I "had to" buy this industrial strength set of Gates inductors. The large roller inductor is 105 microhenrys, the other roller and the fixed inductor are both 30 microhenrys. From the values of the inductors, the values of the transmitting micas and the 5 amp RF current meter, it appears to be a tuning unit from a 1 KW broadcast band transmitter.
Click HERE to see how the large fixed inductor became a major part of my dual 3CX3000F7 amplifier.
